Top Ten Most Popular And Best Selling Affordable Cars In India

Are you looking for most affordable and best selling fuel efficient cars In India then here in this articles I am going to listing top selling Indian car list which is trending all time in Indian auto market

1 Maruti Alto
The Maruti Alto is the largest-selling car in India, selling an average of nearly 22,000 cars a month. The numbers for the Maruti Alto include the Alto 800 and the Alto K10, as Maruti doesn’t differentiate these two when putting out the numbers. The Alto 800 is the all-new one which made its debut in October last year, with an all-new body shell and tweaks to the engine, while the K10 still uses the older Alto body shell, but with a 1-litre K-Series engine. The cars are priced attractively at the entry level and that is the main draw for anyone looking to buy a car, especially in tier-2 cities.
2 Maruti Swift Dzire
The Maruti Dzire compact sedan actually managed to marginally outsell its hatchback sibling the Swift, on which it is based. The fact that the Maruti Dzire is more expensive than the Swift and falls within the Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh price bracket, and yet has managed to become the No. 2 best-selling car in India shows that there are a fair number of buyers who directly buy into this segment. Also a three-box car, a sedan, in India is seen as more of a status symbol compared to a hatchback.
3 Maruti Swift
In the number three spot is the premium hatchback from Maruti – the Swift. This car was revamped in mid-2011 and the new Swift has gone on to chalk up even higher volumes than the older one. The Maruti Swift is the largest-selling premium hatchback, far ahead of its rivals. It sells an average of nearly 16,600 cars a month, far ahead of its closest rival such as the Hyundai i20 which sells only 6,200 odd a month.
4 Maruti Wagon-R
At No.4 is the Maruti Wagon-R, a practical all-round family hatchback for those on a budget. This car has been the leader in its segment for nearly a decade now. It sells an average of 13,500 odd cars a month, way ahead of its closest rival in function, the Hyundai i10, which sells about 6,700 odd cars a month. To give the Wagon-R a bit of style Maruti launched the StingRay, but there hasn’t really been much of an impact on sales after its launch.
5 Mahindra Bolero
The fifth best-selling vehicle in India is the Mahindra Bolero, a rugged SUV that mainly finds favour in rural India. The Bolero has many variants to suit different price points and needs, including pick-ups and people movers. It sells an average of nearly 9,300 vehicles a month and has soldiered on virtually unchallenged, despite an aging design, originally based on a World War II era Jeep.
6 Hyundai Eon
The Hyundai Eon was meant to be a worthy competitor to the Maruti Alto. However, it has failed to topple the Alto from its spot despite being competitively priced and sporting a more modern design. The Eon still sells in decent numbers although it could have done a lot more. It sells nearly 7,700 cars on average each month, and has effectively almost replaced the Santro at the entry segment, although the Santro continues to sell well.
7 Hyundai i10
The Hyundai i10 has seen its sales dip drastically in the past three months ever since the launch of its sibling the Hyundai Grand i10. There appears to be some degree of cannibalization of sales, but the Hyundai i10 has so far managed to retain its No. 7 spot. It is likely to cede that to the Grand i10 next year once the numbers add up. It sells an average of 6,700 odd cars a month.
8 Hyundai i20
In the No. 8 spot is the Hyundai i20, a loaded-to-the-gills premium hatchback, which although slightly more premium than the others in its segment has been selling fairly well. The car sells an average of over 6,200 cars a month, with a near equal mix of petrol and diesel i20s, owing to the diesel variants being significantly more expensive.
9 Toyota Innova
In the No. 9 spot is a popular people-mover, the Toyota Innova. Despite Toyota raising prices quite regularly with the Toyota Innova, the brand continues to drive sales. It sells an average of 5,300 units a month making it the best-selling MUV in India right now, but faces a huge threat from the Maruti Ertiga, which is very close behind in terms of overall sales.
10 Maruti Ertiga
The Maruti Ertiga has managed to get into the top-10 best-sellers list, knocking the Tata Indica & Vista siblings out of the list. The Ertiga has emerged as the second-best selling MUV in India and is fast closing the gap with the Toyota Innova. The charts could be quite different next year, but there will be more competition from Honda and others as well. The Ertiga sells an average of 5,200 units a month, actually also overtaking the Innova in a couple of months.
